Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a PowerBI Technical Administrator to ensure smooth operations of data warehousing and BI environments. This remote US-based role installs, configures, and optimizes DW/BI software to meet enterprise needs and security requirements.

You will design and maintain Power BI dashboards and data models, connect sources, manage data refreshes, and support users with RBAC. Strong BI, SQL, and collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of experience design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Translate business requirements into clear, actionable visualizations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Build and optimize data models using Power Query (M) and DAX to support accurate reporting.
• Connect Power BI to data sources (SQL Server, Oracle, Excel, cloud services) and manage refresh schedules, gateways, and permissions.
• Analyze and troubleshoot performance issues, apply best practices in data modeling and visualization.
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and leadership to gather requirements and support data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

• Generates Ad-Hoc PBI Reports.
• Conducts PBI Training (Instructor-led Class Development, Delivery).
• Installs and configures DW/BI software to meet customer needs in accordance with enterprise architecture.
• Continuously tunes environment to optimize performance of DW/BI software.
• Designs, implements, and updates user management solutions for access control per security requirements.
• Evaluates vendor updates and plans patches to mitigate risks.
• Makes recommendations for changes to software/hardware to improve performance.
• Ensures smooth operation of DW/BI software through monitoring and patching.
• Supports user administration for role-based security.
• Performs upgrades for new features, security and support.
