SaidGig is seeking an experienced PostgreSQL-focused engineer to design, build, and operate a robust database foundation for cloud-native systems. This remote, full-time role emphasizes reliability, DR readiness, and performance for large-scale environments.

Responsibilities include architecture, tuning, backup and failover management, and cross-team collaboration for migrations and scaling. Candidates should have extensive production PostgreSQL experience and strong written/verbal communication.

Qualifications

• 5+ years managing and optimizing PostgreSQL databases in production.
• Expert knowledge of PostgreSQL internals, query tuning, indexing, partitioning, and replication.
• Hands-on AWS RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL experience, including backup, recovery, and high-availability design.
• Strong analytical troubleshooting skills for slow queries, execution plans, locks, and deadlocks.
• Experience supporting large-scale, high-traffic databases with millions of rows.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote-team, with proactive written and verbal communication.

Responsabilités

• Design, implement, and manage resilient, highly available PostgreSQL architectures using AWS RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Improve database performance through query-plan analysis, index tuning, and advanced partitioning strategies.
• Maintain disaster-recovery readiness with dependable backup, replication, and failover processes.
• Investigate and resolve slow queries, locks, deadlocks, and complex bottlenecks affecting large-scale databases.
• Automate routine maintenance and strengthen operational practices across database environments.
• Partner with cross-functional teams on feature launches, data migrations, and application scaling.
• Maintain thorough documentation and communicate clearly in writing and conversation.
