Job summary

24-MAG is offering a fully remote, full-time role for an expert PostgreSQL architect and reliability engineer. You will design, operate, and optimize production-grade PostgreSQL environments using AWS RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL, focusing on high availability, disaster recovery, and performance tuning.

You will diagnose slow queries, implement partitioning, manage replication, and automate operational tasks while collaborating with cross-functional teams to scale platforms and ensure reliability

Qualifications

• 5 years of professional experience managing and optimising PostgreSQL databases in production.
• Expert-level knowledge of PostgreSQL internals, query tuning, indexing, partitioning, and replication.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Experience designing backup, recovery, failover, and high-availability architectures.
• Ability to troubleshoot execution plans, slow queries, locks, and deadlocks.
• Experience operating large-scale, high-traffic databases.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate highly available PostgreSQL architectures in cloud-native environments.
• Provide production troubleshooting and automate routine maintenance tasks.
• Lead data migrations and scaling initiatives for growing workloads.
• Collaborate with engineering on platform improvements and feature scalability.
• Document architectures, topologies, and operational runbooks.
