Job summary

A forward-thinking research institute seeks a highly motivated Remote Postdoctoral Fellow to join its Synthetic Biology group. This fully remote position is based in East London, Eastern Cape, and offers the chance to design and construct novel genetic circuits and metabolic pathways for diverse applications.

You will work with a global team of scientists, use molecular biology and computational tools, analyze data, contribute to manuscripts, and stay up to date with advances in the field.

Qualifications

• PhD in Synthetic Biology or related field.
• Experience with molecular cloning and genetic engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for remote work.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer genetic circuits and metabolic pathways.
• Perform DNA assembly, gene expression analysis, and protein engineering.
• Use computational tools for design, modeling and data interpretation.
• Collaborate with researchers to integrate approaches into projects.
• Troubleshoot experiments and develop robust protocols.
