Job summary

Fusion Academy seeks a Post-Secondary Counselor to work 1:1 with students, creating strategic plans for post-high school goals. The role includes counseling for college options, resume and essay support, and coordination with the Nationwide Post Secondary Counseling team.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in counseling or admissions, with an advanced degree in a related field, and are comfortable with remote work across multiple states. Eastern time zone is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Post Secondary Counseling, College and Career Readiness, Educational Consulting, or Higher Ed and Admissions Counseling.
• Advanced Degree (MA, MS, MEd, or higher) in School Counseling, Educational Psychology, Education, Mental Health Counseling, or related field.
• Remote and virtual applicants welcomed; states include AZ, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, MD, MA, MI, MN, NJ, NC, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, DC, WI.

Responsibilities

• Provide dynamic 1:1 virtual counseling via post-secondary prep courses and enrichment packages.
• Mentor students on college options, from 4-year, 2-year, gap year, vocational/tech, apprenticeships, military or direct to career paths.
• Use college readiness tools (SCOIR, YouScience) to map aptitudes and goals to options.
• Read transcripts and analyze GPA and records to guide college/university prospects.
• Support college-bound students with admissions, essays, financial planning, and recommendations.
• Assist non-college bound students with resume building, interview prep, and career prep.
