Fusion Academy seeks a Post-Secondary Counselor to work 1:1 with students on college and career planning. You will guide applications, essays, and financial planning while supporting non-college paths. This remote role partners with Fusion campuses nationwide and requires strong knowledge of the college admissions landscape.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in counseling and an advanced degree in related fields. Occasional campus visits and collaboration with a national team are part of the role.

As aPost-Secondary Counselor,you willwork 1-to-1 with students to explore their future and build strategic plans to achieve their goals after high school! Please note: Not all campuses serve grades 4 and 5, and specific details will be shared during the interview process.

WhatYou’llDo:

  • Providea dynamicvirtual 1:1 teaching and counseling experience to students via credit-bearing post-secondary preparation courses, and non-credit-bearingpost-secondary counseling enrichment packages.
  • Mentorstudents inexploring post-secondary options;4 yearcollege or university,2 yearjunior or community college, gap year, vocational and tech or trade schools, apprenticeships, military, ordirect tocareer and more!
  • Navigate andutilizecollege and career readiness tools likeSCOIR,YouSciencetoidentifystudent aptitudes, interests, abilities and link them to their future goals.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret transcripts,GPA's, and other academic records to make recommendations and provide guidance for college or university prospects.
  • Forcollegebound students; provide comprehensive support through the college application and admissions process, standardized test preparation plans, developing personal statement and supplemental essays,assistin distributing financial planning resources as needed, and more! Craft detailed counselor letters of recommendation and successfully navigate the college application materials submission process for students on your active roster
  • Communicate effectively with colleges and universities to ensure admission requirements have been met for college bound Fusion student
  • Fornon-collegeboundstudents;assistwith resume building, interview techniques, career preparation, and developing professional presence.
  • Connect and collaborate with the Nationwide Post Secondary Counseling team, supporting over 80 Fusion Academy campuses across the country and Fusion Global Academy.

WhatWe’reLooking for:

  • 3 or more years of experience in Post Secondary Counseling, College and Career Readiness, Educational Consulting, or Higher Ed and Admissions Counseling
  • Advanced Degree (MA, MS, MEd, or higher) in School Counseling, Educational Psychology, Education, Mental Health Counseling, or related field
  • Fusion Academy is currently accepting employment applications for applicanys that live in or near New York City.
  • FusionPSC'smust havecomprehensive knowledgeof the college admissions process and experience guiding students through the complex college search and admissions process.
  • Candidates will have knowledge of alternative post-secondary options such as vocational, apprenticeships, or gap year programs and be able to support students inpreparing forthe workforce or finding internship opportunities.
  • Candidatesneedto have an innate passion for nurturing andsupportadolescents. Experience with Neurodivergent Students with Learning Disabilities is a plus.

This college and post-secondary counseling position will primarily support students and families across our Fusion campuses in New York City. The ideal candidate will bring extensive knowledge of the college admissions landscape, including strong familiarity with SUNY, CUNY, and colleges and universities throughout the Northeast and nationally.

We are seeking someone with experience in college admissions, school counseling, and/or private college consulting who can provide personalized guidance throughout the college search, application, admissions, and enrollment process.

This is primarily a remote position; however, quarterly visits to our Fusion campuses are expected to connect with administration, students, and families and participate in campus events. Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across our Fusion community are essential.
