Qualifications

  • Experience writing for busy, skeptical audiences not expert in the subject.
  • Sharp editorial instincts to identify what's missing or bloated.
  • Ability to tailor content by audience and context.
  • Coachable and eager to learn quickly in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Genuine interest in youth mental health, education, or public policy.
  • Open to flexible work arrangements: hourly, project-based, or fellowship-style.

Responsibilities

  • Draft a section of statewide RFP responses or sole-source justification packages.
  • Turn rough outcomes data into clear, compelling prose for proposals.
  • Draft short briefings or one-pagers for specific policymakers.
  • Transform stories or school results into concise, persuasive narratives.
  • Tighten drafts and build out reusable content for the team.
