Job summary

TriCore is seeking a Support Engineer to provide remote technical support for customers, troubleshooting issues, and implementing PLC/HMI changes. The role emphasizes documenting resolutions, clear communication, and adherence to safety and customer requirements.

The successful candidate will learn TriCore’s automation technologies, work with increasing independence, and support production and data reporting systems on a night-shift schedule as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience with demonstrated success applying technical knowledge in engineering or automation environments.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot customer-reported technical issues by reviewing system information, evaluating contributing factors, and identifying appropriate next steps.
• Apply TriCore standards, procedures, and best practices when developing support solutions.
• Communicate clearly with customers and internal teams throughout the support process.
• Gather information, set expectations, and provide timely updates on issue status.
• Document troubleshooting steps, findings, and resolutions.
• Program, configure, test, and implement PLC- and HMI-based changes.
• Follow change-control processes for solutions.
• Develop proficiency across TriCore’s automation technologies and customer environments.
• Prioritize cases and escalate when needed.
• Follow safety and site requirements.
• Take ownership of work through resolution or handoff.
