Job summary

Happy Returns LLC is hiring a Platform Software Engineer to build and operate backend services powering our data platform and internal tooling. You’ll focus on reliable APIs, data-access layers, and service integrations to improve performance and developer experience.

Day-to-day work includes delivering new features using Go, Python, and PostgreSQL, plus building data pipelines for analytics and operations.

Qualifications

1-3 years of experience building backend APIs or services.
Familiarity with databases and data storage technologies.
Ability to ship clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
Strong collaboration with stakeholders across the organization.
Curiosity and adaptability to explore new technologies.
Self-starter mindset with ability to learn independently in a fully remote setting.

Responsibilities

Own successful implementation and delivery of new backend features and projects.
Design and maintain APIs, data-access layers, and service integrations.
Build and maintain data pipelines powering analytics and operations.
Participate in architecture discussions and design reviews for scalability and reliability.
Uphold clean code standards with thorough testing and reviews.
Collaborate with Product, Data, and engineering teams to translate needs into solutions.
Leverage AI-assisted development tools to speed coding and debugging.
Monitor and debug systems to ensure health and stability.
