Job summary

Happy Returns is seeking a Platform Software Engineer to build and operate backend services powering our data platform and internal tooling. This fully remote role supports engineers, retailers, and shoppers across the U.S.

You'll own feature delivery using Golang, Python, and PostgreSQL, develop data pipelines, and participate in architecture reviews to ensure scalability, reliability, and security. You'll collaborate with Product, Data, and other engineering teams while advancing code quality

Qualifications

1-3 years of experience building backend APIs or services.
Familiarity with databases and data storage technologies.
The ability to efficiently ship clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
A self-starter mindset with the ability to work remotely with stakeholders across the organization.

Responsibilities

Own the design and delivery of new features and projects using Golang, Python, and PostgreSQL.
Build and maintain data pipelines and analytics tooling powering insights and workflows.
Participate in architecture discussions to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.
Uphold clean code standards and testing through reviews and best practices.
Collaborate with Product, Data, and other engineering teams to translate needs into solutions.
Leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate coding, debugging, and documentation.
