Job summary

Speechify is seeking a senior backend engineer to design, build, and maintain robust APIs for payments, subscriptions, auth, and analytics, enabling scalable delivery of text-to-speech features. The role emphasizes strategic thinking, fast delivery, and delivering excellent user experiences.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, leverage Google Cloud Platform, and work with Docker and Kubernetes to ensure high availability and performance in a distributed environment.

Qualifications

• Proven backend development experience with TS/Node.
• Direct experience with Google Cloud Platform and familiarity with AWS/Azure.
• Ability to ideate and implement efficiently, prioritizing impact.
• Preferred: Docker and containerized deployments.
• Preferred: Deploying high-availability applications on Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public TTS API, internal APIs like Payment, Subscription, Auth and Consumption Tracking, ensuring they meet business and scalability requirements
• Oversee the full backend API landscape, enhancing and optimizing for performance and maintainability
• Collaborate on B2B solutions, focusing on customization and integration needs for enterprise clients
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with overall product strategy and user experience
