Job summary

Cordia Energy Services is seeking an Assistant Plant Operator for the Pittsburgh International Airport Microgrid in Pittsburgh, PA. You will be part of a team managing remote operations, ensuring asset reliability, and coordinating with CES personnel and external entities to maintain continuous operations.

The role emphasizes careful monitoring, adherence to SOPs, and collaboration with field technicians to resolve outages.

Qualifications

Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong computer network and software knowledge (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Capability to follow procedures and safety/environmental requirements.
High school diploma required.
Experience in power plant operations preferred.

Responsibilities

Coordinate unit availability, outage schedules, and startup/shutdown times with CES operations team and energy management.
Coordinate unit start up and shutdown evolutions as directed by EMS or CES operations team.
Monitor and analyze operating data; follow SOPs and notify on abnormal engine and plant conditions.
Alert CES operations team of abnormalities and dispatch on-call technicians as needed.
Follow established safety and operating procedures.
Communicate with outside entities during troubleshooting evolutions and relay information to field technicians.
Assist with lockout/tagout activities.
Work rotating 12-hour shifts to support dispatch or maintenance activities.
Maintain accurate event and data logs; generate reports on generation, safety and availability.
Assist in maintenance activities under guidance of senior technicians.
Perform other shift duties as assigned by CES management.
