At Messer, a leading industrial gases company, we seek a Remote Operator 1 to monitor and control approximately six air separation plants from our Bethlehem, PA control room. You will ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations, handling upsets, startups, and 24/7 shift coverage.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required or equivalent.
• Military experience is acceptable as related operations background.
• Engineering or physical science degree is a plus.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a process plant.
• Willingness to work a 24/7 shift cycle.
• Strong problem-solving and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintains safe, reliable, and efficient plant operation of ~six air separation plants via computer interface on shift.
• Respond to and troubleshoot process upsets and plant problems.
• Alarm management and response.
• Perform plant shutdowns and startups.
• Power management and emergency response.
• Monitor KPIs and escalate deficiencies.
• Communicate plant status and performance to the business.
• Provide ad-hoc support for non-ROC plants as needed.
• Maintain Messer Operations Network security and compliance.
