Job summary

WM is seeking a Maintenance Department leader to plan, direct, and control maintenance efforts across multiple facilities in Wisconsin. The role oversees 5 technicians and coordinates with project engineers to optimize plant equipment and transportation systems.

The candidate will develop and administer preventive maintenance programs, ensure safe/efficient operations, and drive cost reductions through informed equipment and facility upgrades. Travel up to 70% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (accredited) or in lieu of degree
• High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant work experience
• 7 years of relevant work experience in engineering and maintenance of equipment and facilities (in addition to education requirement)
• Ability to daytime travel, up to 70%

Responsibilities

• Manages preventive maintenance program and maintenance of equipment and facilities
• Develops and maintains organization qualified to maintain all equipment and facilities in safe/efficient condition
• Executes an effective preventive maintenance program to minimize unscheduled downtime
• Maintains operating equipment; schedules repairs to minimize interference
• Consults with other departments on modifications and replacements to improve operations and reduce costs
• Coordinates efficient operation of facilities with project engineers
• Oversees maintenance of all plant transportation equipment
• Analyzes cost studies for new facilities/equipment to reduce operating costs and makes recommendations to Plant Manager
• Develops objectives/standards for projects to meet goals
• Plans and ensures adequate supply and control of spare parts and maintenance supplies
