Job summary

Rome Health seeks a Professional/Physician Practice Coder to review clinical documentation and assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for physician and professional services. You will ensure complete, accurate coding aligned with guidelines and payer requirements while collaborating with providers for documentation clarity.

The role supports coding quality, participates in audits and education, and ensures HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Current RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, or CPC credential required.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, modifiers and coding guidelines.
• Knowledge of Medicare regulations and payer requirements.
• Ability to work remotely in a compliant environment after training.

Responsibilities

• Review professional/physician documentation and assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS codes and modifiers.
• Ensure coding aligns with official guidelines, Medicare rules and payer policies.
• Identify missing data and request documentation clarification from providers.
• Support coding reviews, appeals, and documentation workflow improvements.
• Collaborate with Business Office to resolve denials and postings.
