Job summary

aah seeks a Medical Coding Education Specialist to lead coding education for physicians and clinicians across the organization. You will partner with Coding Leadership, IT, Revenue Cycle, and Compliance to deliver training, both in-person and virtual, and to advance coding education programs.

Requirements include 5 years in medical coding, AHIMA/AAPC credentials, and strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, plus adult learning principles.

Qualifications

• 5 years of medical coding experience including physician revenue cycle workflows.
• Advanced knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.
• Expert in adult learning concepts and training delivery.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and email tools.

Responsibilities

• Presents coding education to coders and clinicians, in-person or virtual.
• Develops educational materials, presentations, and job aids.
• Identifies coding education needs and coordinates with leadership to address gaps.
• Schedules and conducts training sessions and refresher courses.
• Maintains and updates education programs with current guidelines.
