Job summary

University of Colorado Medicine seeks a Provider Education Specialist with expertise in Orthopedics & Surgical Specialties to join the Audit, Compliance & Education team. This role can be performed 100% remotely, and out-of-state candidates will be considered.

You will develop and deliver coding and documentation education for physicians, residents, and APPs, create materials in Articulate and Panopto, and collaborate with Education Manager and providers to support new provider orientation.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration (or related field) or equivalent/relevant work experience.
• Minimum of 3+ years of education experience (provider or coder education, but provider is preferred).
• CPC or CCS required.
• CPMA certification a plus (must be obtained within 1 year of hire).
• The ability to speak comfortably and effectively in front of large audiences is essential to success.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, revise and update education materials in Articulate, Panopto, Word and PowerPoint.
• Develop content related to coding and documentation requirements per regulatory and AMA guidelines.
• Provide educational sessions for Physicians, Residents, APPs, and learners involved in professional services billing.
• Conduct follow-up reviews after initial training and provide additional training as needed.
• Collaborate with Education Manager and providers to manage new provider orientation processes.
