Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Physician Coder to join our Physician Billing Office team in Jacksonville, FL, operating in a remote capacity. This full-time day shift role focuses on accurate coding of ICD-10-CM diagnoses and CPT-4 procedures across multiple specialties and service sites.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of clinical documentation, E/M coding, and physician coding experience, with CPC or CCS-P certification preferred. Remote work is allowed from approved states, including TX.

Qualifications

• Clinical Documentation experience (1–2 years)
• Evaluation and Management (E/M) coding experience (1–2 years)
• Physician coding experience including CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS (1–2 years)
• Outpatient procedural coding experience (1–2 years)
• Minor outpatient and office procedure coding experience (1–2 years)
• Certified Professional Coder or CCS-P certification required (1–2 years preferred)

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and CPT-4 procedure codes.
• Perform E/M coding across applicable places of service.
• Code minor office procedures, outpatient testing, and minor surgeries.
• Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with guidelines and regulations.
• Review medical records to support code assignment and billing.
• Identify and resolve coding discrepancies or documentation issues.
