Baptist Health System, Inc. is hiring a Physician Coder to join our Physician Billing Office team in Jacksonville, FL. This is a full-time day shift opportunity.

The Physician Coder reviews clinical documentation and applies ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes across specialties, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and state and federal regulations. Remote work is supported in approved states; candidates must have 1–2 years of clinical documentation and coding experience, CPC or CCS-P

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of Clinical Documentation experience required.
• 1–2 years of E/M coding experience required.
• 1–2 years of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS coding experience required.
• 1–2 years of outpatient procedural coding experience required.
• 1–2 years of minor outpatient and office procedure coding experience required.
• CPC or equivalent certification is required. Specialty certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes.
• Perform E/M coding across applicable places of service.
• Code minor office procedures, specialty testing, outpatient procedures, and minor surgeries.
• Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with established coding guidelines and regulations.
• Review medical records to support code assignment and billing.
• Identify and resolve coding discrepancies or documentation issues.
• Maintain current knowledge of coding guidelines and regulatory requirements.
