LaraBench is seeking a PHP Software Engineer for a fully remote role within the United States, supporting an Atlanta-based client on Eastern Time. The position offers competitive salary with robust benefits and professional development opportunities.

You will develop server-side logic in PHP, work with Laravel, MySQL/MariaDB, and Linux environments, and collaborate across teams to deliver scalable enterprise applications. Excellent communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong proficiency in PHP.
• At least one year of Laravel experience.
• Proficiency with MySQL/MariaDB and Linux environments.
• Familiarity with Git and version control.
• Familiarity with AI-based code generation tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Bonus: Agile, Jira, SDLC, automated testing, or CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop server-side application logic and maintain central database for performance and scalability.
• Build efficient, testable PHP modules and integrate front-end elements.
• Develop and test software for enterprise and client applications.
• Address performance issues and architectural challenges in PHP apps.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in PHP applications.
• Refactor and improve existing codebase for maintainability.
• Collaborate with team from specification through launch and maintenance.
• Communicate task progress and recommendations clearly.
