Job summary

OxBlue Construction Cameras, based in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a PHP Software Engineer to build server-side logic and maintain the central database. Join a full-stack team delivering internal and external products, with hybrid or remote work options after onboarding.

The role requires PHP proficiency, Laravel experience, MySQL/MariaDB, Linux, and Git, plus strong communication. Collaborate with frontend and DevOps, write tests, and contribute to scalable, high-performance applications.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• High proficiency working in PHP
• At least one year of experience with Laravel
• Proficiency working with MySQL or MariaDB
• Proficiency working within a Linux environment
• Familiarity with version control software, such as Git
• Familiarity with agentic code generation using frontier AI models
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to explain complex technical problems to both technical and non-technical people

Responsibilities

• Build efficient, testable, and reusable PHP modules
• Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges
• Work closely with your team in completing projects
• Troubleshoot and fix any issues relating to our PHP applications
• Develop and test software for enterprise and/or client applications
• Refactor, optimize, and improve existing codebases for maintenance and scale
• Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers
• Convey effectively the status of task progress, evaluations, suggestions, and schedules
• Provide insights and improvements related to technical and process issues
• Document developed features and architecture
