Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for a 100% remote prior authorization review role. You will evaluate coverage determinations across multiple health plans, approve or deny based on criteria, and route decisions to pharmacists for final review.

The position emphasizes strong data entry, documentation, and ability to work across several systems from a dedicated home workspace. Remote, long-term with benefits possible.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a pharmacy technician in the state of residence.
• National pharmacy technician certification (PTCB or NHA).
• Strong computer skills and ability to work across multiple screens.

Responsibilities

• Review prior authorization requests for coverage determinations across health plans and medications.
• Evaluate requests against clinical and coverage criteria to approve or deny.
• Enter decisions into PBM system accurately.
• Track requests to ensure timely resolution.
• Obtain verbal authorizations from prescribers and request clinical information when needed.
• Refer complex cases to clinical teams.
• Notify providers, members, and stakeholders of outcomes.
