Responsibilities include reviewing PA requests, entering data into PBM systems, and collaborating with pharmacists. Remote work setup with a flexible schedule and Texas-only licensing considerations apply.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a pharmacy technician in the state of residence.
• National certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or NHA).
• Active pharmacy technician license in operation state.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or equivalent.
• Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience with prior authorization processes for prescription benefits.
• Ability to navigate PBM systems and prescription benefit platforms.
• Reliable remote setup with private workspace and fast internet.
• Willingness to work Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. local time; some weekend coverage.

Responsibilities

• Review prior authorization requests to support coverage determinations.
• Approve/deny coverage based on criteria; route to pharmacist for final review.
• Track and manage requests from receipt to completion.
• Enter decisions into PBM systems with high accuracy.
• Obtain verbal authorizations and request additional clinical information as needed.
• Notify providers/members of decisions and outcomes clearly.
• Handle PA requests for all plans and medication types, including specialty therapies.
• Respond to inquiries about prescription benefit coverage and PA status.
• Refer specialty or complex cases to appropriate teams.
• Collaborate with pharmacists and technicians to ensure smooth workflow.
