Job summary

Dignity Health Medical Foundation is seeking a Pharmacy Coordinator Ambulatory Clinic to interface with ambulatory care teams, pharmacies, payers and program representatives to secure access to prescribed medications. The role involves processing prior authorizations and supporting services to improve patient access.

You will communicate with providers, patients, and pharmacists, assist with insurance benefits understanding, and manage renewals of patient assistance programs, including

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Demonstrable experience with Pharmaceutical/drug assistance programs.
• Demonstrable experience in pharmacy/medical insurance coverage.
• In lieu of the above, related work experience in a retail pharmacy, healthcare clinic or hospital environment.
• Excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Process medication prior authorizations.
• Support ambulatory care pharmacy services to improve patient access to medications.
• Assist patients with understanding their insurance benefits and act as liaison with programs/providers.
• Manage renewals of medications and eligibility of patient assistance programs.
• Work with medication manufacturers to maintain up-to-date assistance program requirements.
