Job summary

CommonSpirit Health seeks a Pharmacy Coordinator Ambulatory Clinic to support access to medications for ambulatory patients, interfacing with providers, pharmacies, payers, and assistance programs. You will process prior authorizations and help patients navigate drug assistance and insurance coverage.

This is a remote position for California residents; you will be equipped to work from home with a laptop and monitors.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
Demonstrable experience with Pharmaceutical/drug assistance programs.
Demonstrable experience in pharmacy/medical insurance coverage.
In lieu of the above, demonstrable related work experience in a retail pharmacy, healthcare clinic or hospital environment.
Excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

Gather information and prepare initial assessment for prescribed medications and access hardship cases.
Prior authorization.
Drug Assistance Program enrollment.
Copay discount programs or equivalent discount program.
Foundation or grant funds available.
Identify patients needing review by an Ambulatory Care Pharmacist.
Meet with patients to assess medication needs and identify programs/resources.
Explain insurance benefits and liaise between patients and programs/providers.
Manage renewals of medications and eligibility for patient assistance.
Work with manufacturers to maintain up-to-date assistance program requirements.
