Job summary

Delos Insurance Solutions is seeking an experienced Personal Lines Property Underwriter to evaluate new business and renewals for homeowners and other residential property lines. You will assess risks, follow guidelines, and balance profitable growth with quality submissions in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration with agents and internal teams to improve processes, provide training, and ensure accurate communication.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of property underwriting or related personal lines experience.
• Strong understanding of underwriting principles and risk assessment.
• Ability to evaluate risks and make decisions within authority.
• Excellent communication and customer-service mindset.
• Experience with underwriting platforms and BI dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Review, evaluate, and underwrite new business and renewal submissions for homeowners and other residential property lines.
• Manage daily underwriting activities, including inspection reviews, endorsements, and system-generated tasks.
• Assess property risk characteristics in accordance with guidelines and risk appetite.
• Identify and select profitable risks while minimizing adverse selection.
• Meet or exceed production and quality standards.
• Exercise assigned underwriting authority to approve minor exceptions within policy.
• Escalate exceptions outside authority to a Senior Underwriter for approval.
• Serve as primary underwriting resource for appointed agents and internal stakeholders.
• Provide timely, accurate communication to agents and partners.
• Partner with Distribution team for agent training and underwriting education.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve efficiency and service quality.
• Provide feedback on guidelines based on market conditions.
