Job summary

YUM! is seeking a Performance Engineer to strengthen our Byte Platform as we optimize digital ordering channels for restaurants globally. You will work on distributed systems, databases, and large data sets, driving performance improvements across development lifecycles.

You will design and execute performance tests, analyze results and collaborate with QE, Engineering, Product, and SRE teams to mitigate risks and improve scalability. Strong automation and mentoring in testing are valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of performance engineering experience.
• 3+ years of code-first performance testing with k6.
• 3+ years working with microservices, REST/GraphQL APIs, and web apps.
• Extensive experience with AWS cloud services and Kubernetes.
• Strong ability to perform profiling, baselining, load, soak and spike testing.

Responsibilities

• Report to a QE Manager and collaborate with Engineering, Product, and SRE teams to identify performance risks and execute tests.
• Design, develop, and run performance test strategies, workloads, and scenarios based on architecture and scalability needs.
• Analyze results, logs, traces, and metrics to identify bottlenecks and optimization opportunities.
• Maintain and enhance performance testing frameworks, tooling, automation, and best practices.
• Provide data-driven recommendations for performance improvements and capacity planning.
• Communicate findings and risks to stakeholders and contribute to platform performance standards.
