Job summary

RI International in Raleigh, NC seeks a Peer Support Specialist I to provide recovery-focused support and advocacy. You will help individuals set goals, teach recovery tools, and collaborate with clinical teams to arrange services in a supportive environment.

The role requires Peer Employment Training certification and a High School Diploma or equivalent, with a 7:00 AM–7:30 PM shift pattern and a full-time, non-exempt status. Benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to teach/train recovery information and recovery tools.
• Effective communication skills.
• Must be able to pass de-escalation training, as defined by state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides peer support to engage individuals in recovery partnerships.
• Teaches recovery and life skills using recovery tools.
• Models hope, responsibility and self-advocacy to support recovery goals.
• Assists in developing natural supports and community living.
• Cultivates connectedness in the person’s life (self, others, the environment, and meaning).
• Completes clinical documentation and adheres to regulations and policies.
• Coordinates with the clinical team to arrange services or resources.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
