Job summary

The role involves collaborating with physicians to verify documentation, ensuring signatures for signed dates of service, and supporting staff with terminology and policy interpretation. Core duties include preparing case reports, following up on billing processes, and mentoring junior coders as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have coding credentials: AHIMA (CCA/CCS/CCS-P) or AAPC (CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H, CPC-H-A).
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• No minimum work experience required; degree not required.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records to determine diagnoses and procedures for accurate CPT coding.
• Code evaluation and management to appropriate CPT code and ICD-10 diagnoses.
• Meet with physicians to review documentation and obtain signatures for dates of service.
