Job summary

Northern Virginia Community College is seeking a Payroll Processor to handle high-volume payroll across bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and modified semi-monthly cycles. You will work with multiple payroll systems, ensure accurate data interfaces, and meet strict deadlines set by the college.

Telework is possible after a one-year probation, with a Monday–Friday schedule and occasional evenings or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of general payroll practices including benefits/deductions and taxes.
• Experience processing high-volume payroll across multiple frequencies.
• Familiarity with state and federal payroll regulations and internal controls.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting.

Responsibilities

• Process high-volume payroll for ~3,000 employees across multiple frequencies.
• Verify data accuracy and ensure proper interfacing between payroll systems.
• Coordinate data for work-study programs and respond to verification requests.
• Maintain records, run reports, and assist auditors as needed.
• Provide back-up support and stay compliant with laws and procedures.
