Job summary

Insperity seeks a Payroll Manager to lead full-cycle payroll for a multi-state workforce. You will ensure accurate data, timeliness, and compliance while coordinating closely with HR and the PEO to resolve issues and streamline processes.

You will train staff, manage timekeeping, oversee reporting, and maintain confidential records. A detail-oriented communicator with Excel/HRIS proficiency will thrive in this role.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing payroll processing and related functions with strong payroll controls.
• Attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and accurate recordkeeping.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to support employees and cross-functional partners.
• Proficiency with Excel, payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and confidentiality.
• Experience with a Professional Employer Organization (PEO) and onboarding workflows preferred.
• Experience supporting a multi-state workforce and payroll reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end payroll processing including data collection, deductions, and direct deposits.
• Audit payroll data, research discrepancies, and manage final-pay processing for departures.
• Serve as primary contact for the PEO regarding payroll questions and resolution.
• Manage timekeeping, PTO corrections, and manager questions on payroll timing.
• Lead weekly payroll reporting for accounting and bi-weekly management needs.
• Coordinate onboarding, employer location details, and tax/benefit data with the PEO.
• Deliver payroll training to employees and managers on deadlines and timekeeping.
• Develop payroll procedures, checklists, and recurring communications.
• Identify recurring issues and propose process and control improvements.
