Job summary

Mosaic is seeking a Payroll Manager who blends hands-on payroll expertise with strong people leadership. This 100% remote role engages in day-to-day payroll operations while coaching a high-performing team across locations.

You will manage full-cycle payroll, tax filings, compliance, and system improvements (PeopleSoft), collaborating with Accounting, Finance, HR, and Operations to ensure accurate, timely payroll across states.

Qualifications

• Deep, hands-on experience with in-house payroll processing across multiple states, including tax filings, notices, and reconciliations.
• Proven ability to coach, develop, and lead payroll teams through change and growth.
• Experience with complex wage/hour laws and enterprise systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead & Develop: hire, coach, and establish accountability within the payroll team.
• Drive Full-Cycle Payroll: manage multi-state processing, off-cycle runs, garnishments, audits.
• Own Tax & Compliance: oversee tax filings, reconciliations, year-end processing, and tax notices.
• Innovate & Improve: analyze systems/workflows, drive process improvements, and lead system upgrades (PeopleSoft).
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: align payroll with Accounting, Finance, HR, and Operations.
