Job summary

State of Alaska is seeking Payroll Technicians (Human Resource Technician 2) to help Keep Alaska Moving. Work may beAnchorage or Juneau with in-state telework options; pay is hourly and determined at interview.

Responsibilities include payroll processing, certifications, and auditing HR actions under supervision, with a focus on accuracy and compliance for the department of Transportation and Public Facilities.

Qualifications

• Six months of entry technical level HR experience.
• High school graduation or the equivalent and one year of advanced clerical experience.
• One year of postsecondary education (32 semester hours or 48 quarter hours) equals one year.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll and leave transactions for employees.
• Provide technical information and assistance to managers, employees and the public.
• Ensure payroll, personnel and leave transactions comply with rules, bargaining unit provisions, statutes and SOPs.
• Support audit, review and certification of HR actions.
