Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join our team and support accurate and timely payroll processing. The ideal candidate must have experience handling payroll tasks, maintaining accurate records, and printing physical checks. You must have access to a computer and printer and be familiar with different types of check paper used in payroll.
Key Responsibilities:
Process payroll on a scheduled basis (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly).
Input hours worked, calculate pay, and ensure proper tax withholdings and deductions.
Maintain up-to-date and accurate payroll records for all employees.
Prepare and print physical checks using proper check stock; ensure alignment, security features, and quality.
Handle direct deposit information and verify accurate transmission.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, benefits, and withholdings.
Coordinate with HR regarding new hires, terminations, and pay adjustments.
Maintain payroll compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
Assist with generating W-2s, 1099s, and other year-end payroll documents.
Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee information.
Requirements:
At least 1 year of payroll or related administrative experience.
Must have access to a computer and a printer.
Must be familiar with different types of payroll check paper (e.g., top check, middle check, blank check stock with security features).
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and payroll software (e.g., ADP, QuickBooks, Paychex).
Strong understanding of payroll procedures and basic accounting.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
