Job summary

Payarc is seeking a Software Engineer II to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable payment applications and services. This mid-level role owns features end-to-end and works with cross-functional teams.

You will contribute across the SDLC, uphold engineering standards and secure data handling per PCI DSS, while mentoring junior engineers and participating in Agile/Scrum ceremonies.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of professional software development experience.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and web services.
• Proficiency with Git/GitHub, including pull requests and code reviews.
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or Oracle.
• Familiarity with PCI DSS and secure handling of cardholder data.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications and APIs.
• Build secure APIs and services compliant with PCI DSS.
• Participate in code reviews and follow engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to deliver features.
• Mentor Software Engineer I as needed.
