Job summary

Global Payments is seeking a Software Engineer II to design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications for the Portal team. You will collaborate with Product, Development, QA, and cross-functional teams to deliver features that improve usability and performance.

The role requires 5+ years in front-end and backend Java ecosystems, with Agile/SAFe experience and strong CI/CD discipline. Hybrid work model in Cincinnati, OH, with visa restrictions noted.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 5+ years of software development, front-end tech (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• 5+ years in RESTful APIs and microservices (Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Data JPA).
• Experience in Agile/SAFe environments and modern delivery practices (Scrum, CI/CD, TDD, BDD, DevOps).
• Strong Git, GitHub, GitHub Copilot, and DevOps tooling experience (Jenkins, SonarQube, Nexus, Maven).
• Hands-on with cloud-native tech (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in SQL and relational DBs (Snowflake, DB2, MS SQL Server) and IDEs (IntelliJ, Eclipse, VS Code).
• Excellent communication and cross-time-zone collaboration; knowledge of data streaming (Kafka) is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver new features and product enhancements with scalable, reusable web apps across devices.
• Collaborate with Product, Development, QA and cross-functional teams to implement requirements.
• Adhere to SDLC, coding standards, security, and best practices; troubleshoot across environments.
• Leverage CI/CD, automation, and AI-assisted development to improve quality and delivery.
• Provide technical leadership through design, coordination, and release support.
