Job summary

Fleetio is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Payments engineering team. You will guide a group building complex, high-stakes payment systems that support Fleetio’s customers and business operations.

You’ll partner with Product and Engineering leadership to prioritize work, coach engineers, and balance delivery speed with quality. This remote role welcomes candidates in the United States, Canada, or Mexico.

Qualifications

• Experience leading SaaS engineering teams.
• Strong domain knowledge in payments, billing, fintech.
• Experience with payment platforms such as Stripe, Recurly, Chargify.
• Ruby on Rails experience preferred; React experience helpful.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Payments engineering team in delivering reliable, high-quality web experiences.
• Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to prioritize payments-related roadmap work.
• Guide the team through complex technical tradeoffs around reliability and delivery speed.
• Develop and mentor engineers through regular 1:1s and performance conversations.
• Work with senior leaders to ensure well-tested, maintainable code.
• Improve system reliability and scalability by addressing root causes and refactors.
• Communicate progress, risks, and decisions to stakeholders clearly.
• Recruit and hire top engineering talent as the team scales.
