Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in healthcare payer environments.
• Experience with EMR systems; Raintree a plus; familiarity with Work Comp and No-Fault.
• Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and Access; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely billing for all payers within region, including secondary billing.
• Maintain accurate notes and communication in the patient’s ledger/chart.
• Verify insurance information and handle discrepancies with appropriate contacts.
• Support denial prevention through proactive follow-up and documentation.
• Follow up on Accounts Receivable by insurance and gather required info for claims or appeals.
• Communicate with payers via phone, email or other means as needed.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors to secure claim payment.
• Research, setup, and test new payer information including contract terms and filing requirements.
• Track discrepancies from partial payments and contractual terms; assist PCs and patients with questions.
