Job summary

Ivy Rehab is seeking a Payer Specialist to join our Revenue Cycle Team. This role supports remote work and focuses on timely payer billing, accurate ledger notes, and verification of insurance data. You will liaise with payers by phone or email and drive denial prevention efforts.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in healthcare payer environments, strong communication skills, and proficiency with EMR systems (Raintree a plus). The position offers a competitive hourly rate and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in all facets of healthcare payer environment.
• Excellent oral communication and phone presence.
• Understanding of quality customer service.
• Experience with EMR systems; Raintree experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely billing for payers within region, including secondary billing.
• Maintain accurate notes and communication in the patient’s ledger/chart.
• Verify insurance information and coordination with PCs for discrepancies.
• Collaborate to implement denial prevention methods.
• Follow up on accounts receivable by insurance and necessary information for claims.
