Responsibilities

• Answers incoming telephone calls for Carle Direct in a pleasant, professional manner. Identifies customer needs and determines how to assist in the appropriate manner.
• Registers patient admissions in Epic.
• Obtains accurate customer information and place in transfer software for nursing staff.
• Coordinates outbound transfer follow up and communication.
• Coordinates and follows up on outpatient appointment scheduling.
• Completes department logs and audits.
• Assists with patient transportation coordination.
• Contacts patients with bed number and direction for planned admissions.
• Communicates with House Administrators, Bed Placement, On-call administration regarding bed availability.
• Order supplies for department in Lawson and Warehouse Direct.
• Updates daily assignments and communication boards.
• Retrieves medical records as needed.
• Communicates updates with Emergency Department ATC, providers, nursing staff, Case Management, Bed Placement/HA.
• Coordinates transmission of images from referring facilities to Epic.
