Job summary

Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a patient access specialist to schedule appointments, register patients, and verify insurance coverage. The role supports multiple specialties across locations and emphasizes accurate, compassionate service.

The position offers a hybrid work arrangement (95% remote, 5% onsite) and requires residing in the Metro Milwaukee area. Training on enterprise scheduling tools is provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum Required Education: High School Diploma
• Minimum Required Experience: 1 year
• Preferred Experience: Customer Service and/or EPIC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules, cancels and reschedules appointments via phone for multiple specialties and locations.
• Triages calls to determine caller needs and provide excellent customer service.
• Encourages patients to sign up for MyChart and the Froedtert & MCW App to manage their healthcare electronically.
• Completes full registration including setting up insurance coverage for new patients and verification of registration and coverage information.
• Works through referral queues, faxes, email, and other correspondence to schedule patient appointments and communicate with referring physicians.
• Develops understanding of Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin locations to give directions to patients.
• Follows detailed protocols and enterprise scheduling tools to ensure accuracy of appointment scheduling and information given.
