Job summary

Community Health Systems (CHS) is seeking a Remote Scheduling Specialist for the Patient Access Center. You will handle patient appointment scheduling across clinics, communicate patient needs to clinical staff, and ensure timely, compliant scheduling from a fully remote environment.

You will verify demographics and insurance, document inquiries in the EMR, monitor call-center workflows, and provide professional service to patients, providers, and staff.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1–3 years of scheduling, operations, or healthcare administration experience.
• 1–3 years of physician/provider scheduling or call center experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete accurate patient appointment scheduling across multiple clinics.
• Handle inbound calls and messages; assess urgent needs for warm transfer.
• Verify demographics and insurance, ensure compliance.
• Document inquiries in the EMR and route to appropriate staff.
• Monitor EMR in-baskets and call-center workflows; maintain confidentiality.
• Provide timely, professional service to patients, providers and staff.
