Job summary

Endeavor Health in Chicago, IL is seeking a Patient Safety Observer for a virtual/ bedside monitoring role. Per diem, days, 12-hour shifts (7:00am–7:30pm) with rotating holidays; floats to inpatient units as needed.

The role monitors patients remotely, provides verbal redirection, and collaborates with nursing staff to ensure safety while maintaining patient confidentiality. CNA preferred; strong customer service and communication skills required.

Qualifications

• High School required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills required.
• Proficiency in both verbal and written communications.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients remotely via video or bedside observation to ensure safety.
• Maintain visual observation of patients at all times and use video monitors when needed.
• Verbally redirect patients at bedside or via two-way audio and summon nursing staff as needed.
• Provide information to floor staff promptly when patient safety is at risk and report concerns.
• Ensure patient dignity and privacy and avoid providing nursing care duties unless authorized.
• Communicate effectively with patients and hospital staff and respond quickly to behavioral changes.
