OneOncology is seeking a Patient Financial Counselor to provide financial counseling, verify insurance benefits, determine patient out-of-pocket costs, and arrange payment plans. You will work under the Patient A/R Manager to support patients with compassion and clear explanations of billing responsibilities.

• 3+ years of experience in financial counseling or AR collections, preferably in oncology healthcare
• Expertise in insurance policies and regulations related to medical billing
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in related field

Responsabilidades

• Educate patients about insurance coverage and benefits (deductible, copay, coinsurance, out-of-pocket costs)
• Determine patient financial ability to pay
• Provide financial counseling on payment arrangements and financial assistance
• Process financial assistance applications per policy and Federal Poverty Levels
• Obtain signatures on applications and route to appropriate teams
• Set up and maintain payment arrangements in account system
• Refer patients to outside social services as needed
• Document all account activity in PM and EMR systems
• Assist patients with questions regarding accounts and coverage
• Answer calls promptly and return messages within 24 hours
• Support balance collection efforts with inbound calls
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
• Collaborate with front office and clinical staff on scheduling and financial counseling needs
• Adhere to policies to standardize function
• Support mission to improve lives of cancer patients
