Job summary

Essentia Health in Fargo seeks a patient financial services professional to provide financial counseling to patients in person and virtually. You will explain payment options, assist with Medicaid eligibility, and navigate financial assistance programs to help patients manage costs.

You will perform self-pay liability estimates, analyze accounts, and educate guarantors while answering patient inquiries from the PFS call center.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in Financial Counseling, Self-Pay Collections, Call Center, Billing and/or healthcare licensure/certification
• Knowledge in registration, coding, insurance billing and payment methodology
• Excellent customer service and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide financial counseling to patients in person and virtually and explain payment options
• Assist with Medicaid eligibility and financial assistance programs
• Perform self-pay liability price estimates and account analysis to educate guarantors
• Handle patient inquiries from the Patient Financial Services call center
