• Assist patients and families with Medicaid/financial assistance applications and determine eligibility.
• Counsel patients regarding insurance benefits and alternative payment options.
• Contact insurance carriers and websites for non-automated eligibility as an advocate for the patient.
• Notify manager and departments of potential delays for elective or urgent care when not approved.
