Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Consumer Access Specialist for a fully remote role based in the United States. You will be a key contact for patients navigating financial and administrative aspects of healthcare, handling inbound/outbound calls, and supporting registration, eligibility verification, and payment processing.

The role emphasizes empathy, accuracy, and collaboration with clinical and administrative teams to ensure timely, coordinated patient support and a positive experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• At least 1 year of customer service, healthcare, or revenue cycle experience preferred.
• Familiarity with healthcare administrative processes and insurance is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, empathetic approach, and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Handle high-volume inbound calls and initiate outbound calls to assist patients with questions about services, finances, insurance, and requirements.
• Explain patient financial responsibilities, provide cost estimates, collect payments, and arrange payment plans.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain pre-authorizations within set timeframes.
• Register patients and verify demographic and insurance details; prevent duplicate records.
• Maintain compliant documentation of interactions, decisions, and payment arrangements.
• Coordinate with clinical teams, insurance providers, and departments to ensure timely information and coordinated support.
• Process payments and reconcile cash following established controls.
• Support switchboard operations and ensure consistent coverage across shifts.
• Contribute to team effectiveness through meetings, collaboration, and proactive communication.
