Job summary

Alliance Health System is seeking a Patient Accounts Specialist to manage outstanding balances and support revenue recovery. The role collaborates with Billing, Payment Posting, Front Desk, and Clinical Operations to improve collections and ensure a positive patient financial experience.

The position reports to the Director of Patient Accounts and requires strong communication, customer service, and knowledge of healthcare billing and insurance concepts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years in healthcare patient accounts, collections or revenue cycle.
• Experience with healthcare billing, insurance benefits, or patient collections preferred.
• Proficient in EMR/practice management systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Contact patients regarding outstanding balances via outbound calls, text messages, emails, and written correspondence.
• Collect payments and secure payment commitments; establish payment plans per policy.
• Reduce accounts receivable through effective follow-up and timely worklists.
• Review and resolve patient billing inquiries; coordinate with internal departments as needed.
• Document all activity in the practice management system; escalate complex issues.
