CommonSpirit is seeking a Patient Health Benefits Counselor for a 100% remote role. You will determine patient eligibility for CICP, charity programs, or payment plans, verify coverage, and secure authorizations while liaising with clinicians and billing teams.

You will confirm benefits, collect payments, and document all interactions, ensuring accurate enrollment and timely processing. Experience in healthcare and strong customer service are valued.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Six months healthcare experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• Medical terminology with strong customer service skills.

Mansioni

• Make policy-supported decisions to determine patient qualification for CICP, charity programs, or payment arrangements.
• Verify coverage and authorization for scheduled procedures.
• Confirm benefits and use price estimate tools to determine patient portions.
• Obtain necessary authorizations and collect payments; liaison between patients, physicians, clinics, case management, and billing entities.
• Document account information electronically in a timely manner.
• Screen self-pay patients for CICP eligibility or charity programs as applicable.
• Obtain pre-certification and benefits from insurers for admissions to comply with insurance rules.
• Act as hospital liaison between insurers, case managers, central business office, and billing entities.
