Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Patient Health Benefits Counselor to verify coverage, determine patient qualification for CICP, charity programs, or payment plans, and liaise with patients, physicians, clinics, and billing teams.

This PRN, 100% remote role requires strong analytical and communication skills, knowledge of ICD-10/CPT, and attention to detail in benefits verification and authorization. High school diploma and healthcare exposure preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires strong analytical skills for financial assessment and attention to detail in benefit verification.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities for patient counseling and payment collection.
• Knowledge of patient financial programs and insurance processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify benefits and authorizations for scheduled procedures.
• Determine patient qualification for CICP, charity programs, or payment arrangements.
• Populate price estimate tools to determine patient portions and collect payments.
• Serve as liaison between patients, physicians, clinics, case management, and billing/eligibility entities.
• Document electronically and update account information in a timely manner.
